Plaid Lexi
Pattern: Lexi Top by Named Clothing
Fabric: Cotton shantung from Stone Mountain & Daughter
Sewn up: April 2020
Another summer top, finally photographed today in the cold. Was drawn to the texture and name (“broken plaid”) of this cotton from Japan, and added some contrasting binding in an effort to help this read slightly less “picnic blanket” - I feel like it mostly worked!
Process shot - exposed binding on the shoulder seams. Sewed pattern pieces wrong sides together with bias tape, then wrapped the tape around the seam and top-stitched down.
~ Photos shot at a social distance by Lizzie Epstein - thanks sis!
